About me

I have always had a passion for the English language, from as early on as translating my first ever text from English to German—the lyrics to Michael Jackson’s duet with Paul McCartney, The Girl Is Mine. I admit that I received a little help from my father at the time, as I was only 7 years old. Translating the song opened up a whole new world of meaning for me.

Fast forward to 30 years and one US high school diploma, one Bachelor of Arts in American and English literature, various years spent abroad in English speaking countries, countless video games, and a handful of bilingual customer service jobs later, and here I was starting out as a video game translator with Big Fish Games. In combining my passions for the English language and video gaming, I felt that I had finally found my calling. After having received excellent training and valuable job experience with Big Fish for two years, I decided to go rogue in 2014 and become a freelance translation ninja.

I had the pleasure of working with [Kit] when we were both localization translators at Big Fish Games where she was consistently praised for the quality of her translations. This is in addition to her expansive knowledge of games and of the gaming terminology, her expertise in dealing with the tricky parts of localization, her technical skills and her dedication to delivering perfect work – always on time. This makes [Kit] the perfect translator for any localization project, from games to apps, to website localization. [Kit] always strives to leave no stone unturned, to use the perfect word and to improve as a translator by constantly learning new things. She has the very inquisitive mind that all good translators need. Most importantly, her lovely personality is bound to ensure that anyone working with her will have great fun. I can't recommend her highly enough.
